They bend over backwards to defend content creators who (try) to take fans money and not deliver the promised content, misrepresent the content the fan actually gets, etc. If we cheat OF out of money somehow there’s hell to pay, but creators doing it will just get you a “you need to work that out with the content creator, it is up to them.” They aren’t even willing to admit that it has the wiff of fraud to it.

In light of recent events, the fetish subculture of acrotomophilia, and careful self-examination, I’ve decided to completely distance myself from the devotee community for my own reasons. This forum and Ampdev are two of the only websites I know of where we talk amongst each other besides in passing interactions on websites. The fundamental lack of community is perhaps the largest problem of devotees, thus allowing the ‘creeps’ to run amok and be completely socially inept when interacting with amputees (not just models, but random amputees on instagram or other social media) which is poor behavior. Korlo raised probably the most important point of the conversation, that there exists no conversation about devoteeism or amputee fetishism. The general consensus that we aren’t ready or ‘we dont act like them’ is a bad excuse for this problem. Theres videos that exist of amputees explaining devotees and giving us the worst reputation imaginable, which isn’t fair of the rest of the devotees who don’t act uncivilized on public platforms.
If the conversation never begins, we will never grow from this.
So what do you suggest? Personally, I have had best talks about devoteesm with ladies themselves. Some are easy to reach, others are the opposite. Not sure how we can support each other – there will always be guys who act impulsively and rude. And without them reaching out to a community I can’t see how we can be proactive.
In my view, discussion pages like this one or similar forums are not the best platforms for fostering genuine dialogue. Moreover, there isn’t a singular, unified group of “amputees” or “devotees,” as individuals within these groups are incredibly diverse and varied in their perspectives and experiences.
Ultimately, we’re all sharing individual experiences, so it’s only natural for these to range from highly positive to deeply negative.
But I don’t think there can be a “community”, for many different reasons. It would be nice if there could be one, but it’s a very complicated issue that can’t just simply be resolved.
I think it would be amazing to have some kind of facebook group, or forum, or discord server of sorts, where amputees and devotees could co-exist, but unlike the many ones that right now, it would have to be one that fosters genuine discussions and mutual understanding, as an attempt to bridge the sexualization/objectification gap that exists right now. In other words, not a group of posting videos or profiles of amputees.
That’s the only step I can think of that might help towards a ‘solution’ of sorts. But even that, I’m not sure how you could ‘sell’ it to people and make it attractive to actively join.
